The Midwest Museum of American Art presents an exhibition of over 100 photographs by three generations of the Weston Family of Photographers beginning Friday, July 19th, through Sunday, October 6th 2013.

Included will be landmark images by Edward Weston (1886-1958), one of the two pioneers of black and white photography; some images printed by the artist and others printed by his son Cole Weston (1919-2003). Oldest son Brett Weston (1911-1993) is represented by both landscape and figurative images.

The third generation of this California-based group is represented by Grandson Kim Weston (b. 1953-). Kim Weston's photographic vision has long been influenced by the work of his grandfather Edward Weston. He learned his craft by assisting his father Cole Weston. He also worked as an assistant for many years to his uncle Brett. Kim and his wife, Gina, live at Wildcat Hill, former studio and home of Edward Weston. They offer several unique workshops throughout the year. As an educator, Kim has been a mentor for many photographers in Monterey County. He specializes in the nude but also works in landscape formats. This exhibit will be mounted from the collection of Dr. Rick and Cindy Burns. This exhibit is sponsored by Lakota Corporation.
