We would like to share some thoughts and photographs from our new friend Jerry White after he attended The Weston Nude Photography Workshop in May 2015. We have so many talented photographers that join us every year for our nude photography workshops. I will be sharing more with you in the next few weeks. If you have photographs from a previous workshop contact me and we will get some posted. Come and join us in October at The Weston Nude Workshop or The Desert Resort Figure Workshop and make some new photographs with us!
"I recently had the good fortune to attend the May 16-17, Nude Photography workshop presented by Kim and Gina Weston at Wildcat Hill.
It was such a thrill for me to be at one of the most famous locations in the history of photography! I had never envisioned myself having the opportunity to visit Wildcat, much less make photographs there.
Everything was so nice - Kim and Gina are such welcoming and friendly hosts, and have done such a magnificent job of preserving and enhancing the beauty, history and aura of this special place.
I love the work of so many of the masters of the last century, but it is the Weston mystique that I find most alluring. I remember back in 1975 when there was an Edward Weston exhibit in Seattle… I had very little money in those days, but that didn’t stop me from hitchhiking 125 miles (each direction) to attend the show.
I feel I left the workshop with a lot of new knowledge and inspiration. Kim’s teaching style was very interesting and informative, interspersed with many of his own images to illustrate his talking points - always a plus to view the work of a master of the genre.
The models were great, they did a great job of making it a successful weekend for all, many thanks to them.
Though this was my first experience shooting nudes I feel that I have some images that turned out quite nicely and am so pleased about that. The workshop has left me with the confidence and desire to do more of this style of work, I already have several ideas and images floating around in my mind’s eye.
Kim and Gina - thank you so much for everything !!! Jerry White June 2015
