Fall is upon us here in the Carmel Highlands and that means cooler weather and bigger waves! The workshop season was a huge success this year, a heartfelt thanks to all of you that attended. A big thank you to Mark Comon of Paul's Photo and to Christa Meola of Christa Meola Photography for each bringing 2 groups of workshop attendees. Thanks to the wonderful models that we have worked so closely with, you made it an amazing year! We also wanted to thank everyone in our Print of the Month Club and others that purchased Kim's work so far this year! We are grateful for all of your support!

I have been working closely with Roger Smith from RAS Design Media to redesign our website. My old site got huge and I was having to update page by page. I was spending way too much time on it. So I have decided on a Word Press site. It is a huge amount of work to get it converted over but I am so looking forward to the ease of updating when we are through. I am so excited and will keep you posted on the progress and hope to get some feedback from all of you!

On a sadder note I am sorry to let you all know that a very young photographer friend and has been in a very bad car accident. Rachael Short of Exposed Gallery was injured in a car accident on Halloween night. She will be in a rehab hospital for several weeks before she comes home. Please send all of you good thoughts and prayers to this wonderful young woman. Stay tuned for news of a fundraiser to help Rachael with her medical bills. If you are local the River Inn in Big Sur is hosting a dinner for her on Nov. 17, 2010 from 5-9pm all proceeds from this will go directly to Rachael. Call ahead to make reservations if you want to go.

Auction at the CPA

Its that time of year again! The Center for Photographic Art is having their 2010 Photographic Art Auction. This is a great way for all of us to support the center. You can bid by calling them or you can come to the auction on Saturday November 13 5-7pm, at the Carmel Women's Club -across the street from the Gallery and the Sunset Center. Check out the wonderful collection of work they have this year. you can see it here AUCTION (there are 2 pages of photographs). Hope to see you there...Bid high and bid often - they say :).
